In 2014, Intricate Bay Lodge was rebuilt from the ground up after a fire destroyed the original structure. A modern day, first-class fly fishing lodge now sits on the shore of Lake Iliamna. Carpeted guest rooms, private baths, Wi-Fi, and an in-deck hot tub are just a few of the amazing amenities you’ll enjoy after days of epic fishing. You can tell everyone back home you’re roughing it you want to.
“I have fly fished in many beautiful places and stayed at many lodges and worked with many guides, but I can easily say that Brian and his team at Intricate Bay Lodge are the best. I have never been so pleased with a trip. Everything was perfect, and it is obvious that this outfit is led by a man with vision, and a deep desire to provide clients with the best experience out there. Each member of the team functioned seamlessly and showed each other respect as they worked hard and filled the roles required to make each piece of the trip come together. Each day’s outing required a tremendous amount of logistical undertaking, which was executed flawlessly.
I am truly grateful to have shared this trip with my friends, and with the amazing IBL staff (Brian, Kevin, Deb, Chace, Hayden, Seth, Chandler, TJ, Zac, and Troy). Intricate Bay Lodge is simply the best in Alaska hands down!
“Incredible doesn’t even come close to describing how wonderful IBL is. On a scale of 1 – 10, IBL is a 15! The fishing guides were knowledgeable, personable, patient and fun! The staff at the lodge were so welcoming, it was easy to feel right at home from the moment we arrived. And the food…WOW!!! Already planning the next trip…”
“This was my first fly fishing trip to Alaska. Intricate Bay Lodge surpassed every expectation, hope and dream that I had built up over a lifetime of thinking about what it would be like to fish in Alaska. The staff, guides and owner operator, Brian, are all class acts. The service, food, attention to detail and daily organization to maximize fishing time were exceptional. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone who’s looking for an iconic fly fishing trip to Alaska. I will happily return.”
