Tap. Tap. Tap. It’s been so long since I’ve felt a fish that big that I’m slow to acknowledge the possibility that this could be anything other than a rock. After a long delay, I lay the tip of my rod toward shore and the line goes tight. Then the tip of the rod bends under the strain of a fish heading the opposite direction.

Packing List
Intricate Bay Lodge is located in remote bush Alaska. There is no store to run out and get something… With that said, Tobacco products, alcohol, batteries and fishing gear should be purchased in advance. Use Anchorage as your last supply stop. Get your fishing licenses online. We recommend water-repellant luggage with soft sides. Always have your rain gear near or at the top for easy access.
Weather in Alaska is very unpredictable. No matter when you visit, be prepared for highs in the 70s
and lows in the 40s. July is typically the warmest month, with cooler temperatures in June, August and September. Be prepared for rain and wind. No Alaskan goes anywhere without good rain gear. Camp clothing should be minimal, casual and comfortable. Remember to keep all important medications separate from your luggage. Warmth and dryness should be considered in all clothing choices. We recommend layering your clothing for warmth and versatility.

We believe we have the finest, well seasoned and experienced staff in the business.
